Select German Car Service was founded in 2016 by Mustafa “Max” Kazanc, whose background in the automotive world goes far beyond simply opening a repair shop. Before building Select German in San Diego, Max spent years in the performance car industry in Istanbul, where he owned and operated a shop focused on high-level performance vehicles and professional track car builds. He also worked as a professional racing instructor, developing a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, mechanical systems, and the standards required when precision actually matters. That experience shaped the foundation of Select German Car Service from day one: real automotive knowledge, high standards, and a clear belief that German car owners deserve better than rushed service and vague answers.

When Max came to San Diego, he saw a gap in the market. German car owners had the dealership option, but many were frustrated by high prices, poor communication, and a customer experience that felt impersonal. Select German Car Service was built to change that. The goal was simple but powerful: create a true dealership alternative that delivers dealership-level service with better communication, more transparent pricing, and a more honest relationship with the customer. Since then, the business has grown into one of San Diego’s most trusted independent German auto specialists, serving Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Volkswagen, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo owners throughout the region.

Today, Select German Car Service combines that performance-driven background with modern systems, advanced diagnostics, digital inspections, online scheduling, extended warranty claim handling, and a customer-first approach that keeps people coming back.
